장소(place)전치사, 분수 표현

저번 시간의 시간 전치사에 이어 "장소" 전치사를 공부해보겠습니다.

 

 

*영어에서 이메일주소를 쓸 때 쓰는 @(골뱅이)는 at으로 읽습니다. 그래서 주소앞에는 at을 쓴다고 생각하면 됩니다.

 

*위의 내용을 바탕으로 연습해보겠습니다.

Sarah is waiting for Elly at the bus stop.

 

The post office is at the end of the street.

 

When will you arrive at the office? 사무실'에' 언제 도착하니?

Do you work in an office? 너 사무실'에서' 일하니?

(헷갈립니다. 그냥 외워야겠습니다. 사무실 안에서 넓게 움직여서 in으로 쓴다고 일단 생각을 해야겠습니다.)

 

I have a meeting in Tokyo.

 

Do you live in Canada?

 

Mars is in the Solar System.

 

The author's name is on the cover of the book.

 

There are no prices on this menu.

 

You are standing on my foot.

 

There was a "no smoking" sign on the wall.

 

I live on the 8th floor at 24 Oxford Street in London.

(8층 위니까 on을 씁니다.)

 

I saw him at school.

 

2-4. 기타 필수 표현

1)분수

 

 

처음 봤을 때 당황한 부분입니다. 퍼센트를 분수로도 바꿔서 표현해야하니 외워야겠습니다. (수학인가요)

 

예제를 풀어보겠습니다.

 

 

Anxious(8%)

설문에 응한 사람들의 극소수만 불안했다고 말했다.

A small minority of those surveyed said that they felt anxious.

 

More competitive(24%)

4분의 1보다 약간 적은 사람들이 좀 더 경쟁심을 느꼈다고 말했다.

Slightly less than a quater said that they felt more competitive.

 

Less interested (33%)

약 세 명 중의 한 명은 이 도전은 그들이 공부에 흥미를 잃게 만들었다고 말했다.

About one in three indicated that the challenge made them lose interest in their studies.

 

More focused(51%)

대답한 사람들의 반 정도는 그들은 좀 더 집중했다고 말했다.

Roughly half of those who responded said that they felt more focused.

 

Motivated(77%)

조사에 참여한 한국 학생들의 4분의 3이상은 그들은 공부하는 것에 동기부여를 받았다고 말했다.

More than three quarters of the Korean students surveyed replied that they felt motivated to study.

 

Excited(95%)

응답자의 대다수는 이 시험이 흥미로웠다고 말했다.

The vast majority of respondents said that they found the test exciting.
