Task 1종류, '변화와 정도'표현과 시간부사

오늘 라이팅을 해봤는데 역시 만만하지는 않습니다.

 

2-1 IELTS Academic Writing Task 1 종류 및 출제 빈도

막대 그래프(a bar graph), 선 그래프(a line graph), 원 그래프(a pie graph), 표(a table)은 자주 출제되는 유형입니다.

순서도(a flow chart), 다이어그램(a diagram), 지도(a map)는 2개월에 1번정도로 출제되던 건데 최근들어 그 빈도수가 높아지고 있다고 합니다.

 

2-2. 변화와 정도를 나타내는 다양한 표현

같은 내용을 다양한 단어와 형식으로 표현할 수 있어야 높은 점수를 얻을 수 있습니다.

*"증가한다"라는 의미로 increase, rise, grow, go up 등 동의어를 활용해야 합니다.

*"급격하게 증가하고 있는 상태"를 표현할 때에도 

a rapid increase (관사 + 형용사 + 명사) 혹은 increase rapidly ( 동사 + 부사)

와 같이 같은 내용을 다양한 단어와 형식으로 표현해야 합니다.

*increase/decrease는 수동태로 쓰지 않습니다.

 

1)변화를 나타내는 단어들

 

2) 변화의 정도를 나타내는 형용사 & 부사

 

 

3) There has been a 형 명 in 토 시

> 토 has p.p 부 시

 

*형 명 (형용사 명사) // 토 시 (토픽 주제)

 

 

 

 

그럼 연습을 해보겠습니다.

 

1) 지난 5년 간 인터넷 쇼핑객들의 수에 눈에 띄는 증가가 있었다.

토픽은 '인터넷 쇼핑객들의 수'입니다.

*There has been a 형 명 in 토 시

There has been a remarkable rise in the number of Internet shoppers in the last 5 years.

*토 has p.p 부 시

The number of Internet shoppers has risen remarkably in the last 5 years.

 

cf) Internet이 단독으로 쓰이면 반드시 The Internet으로 써야 합니다.

 

2) 최근 강우량에 약간의 감소가 있었다.

토픽은 '강우량'입니다.

*There has been a 형 명 in 토 시

There has been a slow drop in the amount of rainfall in recent years.(recently)

*토 has p.p 부 시

The amount of rainfall has dropped slowly in recent years.(recently)

 

3) 2010년 이래로 백호랑이 개체 수에 급격한 감소가 있었다.

토픽은 '백호랑이 개체 수'입니다.

*There has been a 형 명 in 토 시

There has been a considerable fall in the white tiger population since 2010.

*토 has p.p 부 시

The white tiger population has fallen considerably since 2010.

 

2-3. 실수하기 쉬운 혼동 표현

1)Percent VS Percentage

: 숫자 + percent

입니다. 무조건.

 

2) at/on/in

(1) 시간 (time)

 

* last, next, every, this 단어 앞에는 at, on, in의 전치사를 쓰지 않습니다.

 

연습을 해보겠습니다.

I have a meeting at 10am.

 

The book store closes at midnight.

 

Juli went home at lunchtime.

 

In South Korea, it often snows in March.

 

Do you think we will go to Mars in the future?

 

There should be a lot of progress in the next century.

 

Do you work on Saturdays?(토요일마다)

 

My birthday is on 23 August.

 

Where will you be on New Year's Eve?

 

The lecture is at 9:00 in the morning on Wednesday, on 24 August, in 2012.
